It's a 24,75" scale and the fingerboard is flat (I'd guess 12" radius) with big, but not massive, frets. Better, I think, than the modern Casino reissues. The neck (mahogany), which is fantastic, chubby (a lot different from my CIJ JM) and glossy without being too big or sticky, joins the body at the end of the 17th fret, which gives you good fret access. The finish is a bit more orange/amber-ish than in the picture, which I don't really like, and they only make them in this one colour, which is a bit of a let down. I don't know if the Casino has that, but it makes all the sense in the world to me so I'm glad that it's there It's very, very light because of this. The construction is the same as the Casino/ES-330 in that the body (all maple) is completely hollow, except for a small wooden block that the TOM is mounted onto. The neck binding has some small "stripes" in it, but again, I was actively looking for things to complain about. Not even noticeable unless you look for it. The only place I've found where the finish looks rough is in the tiny space inbetween the end of the neck and the neck pickup. I've wanted a Casino or an ES-330-ish guitar for a long time now and this thing has filled that empty space with excellence!įirst of all, the build quality is next to flawless.
